Ode to Disney World
With apologies to Edna St. Vincent Millay and to Mom and Dad for mangling their favorite poem.
We were very tired, we were very merry.
We rode back and forth, quite a lot, on the ferry.
You ate some popcorn
and I ate an ear
of a Mickey Mouse ice-cream
we had bought somewhere.
We bade good 'morrow to a princess in beads
and we bought some souvenirs
which neither of us needs.
We heard Cinderella music
and the theme song from Cars
And the fireworks exploded
like buckets full of stars.
We were very tired, we were very merry.
We rode back and forth, quite a lot, on the ferry.
You ate some popcorn
and I ate an ear
of a Mickey Mouse ice-cream
we had bought somewhere.
We bade good 'morrow to a princess in beads
and we bought some souvenirs
which neither of us needs.
We heard Cinderella music
and the theme song from Cars
And the fireworks exploded
like buckets full of stars.
