Predators

Mark and the kids have been watching a lot of Man Versus Wild, staring an outdoorsman named "Bear." Bear is now the kids new hero.

Mark asked the kids which of Bear's (many) skills was the most important. Someone suggested "staying away from predators."

I said that didn't seem to be a big priority to him, or else he wouldn't end up close to so many of them. Mark retorted that staying away from predators was pretty darn important to Bear, or else he wouldn't be alive. I said that I do a much better job of staying away from predators... I don't get myself into those sorts of situations to begin with!

Caroline mentioned that Frisco has coyotes. I had to admit that Frisco does have its own predators, especially the fearsome Dance Team Moms.

"Oh, yeah," said Mark solemnly, "you can't get much scarier than that."
