Learning What Counts
So there I am in Target, with boxes and boxes of dice. The sales clerk can't help himself.
"So what is it you're gonna roll all them dice on?" he drawls with a chuckle.
I explain that Colin's teacher needs them as part of a class project.
"So are they teaching the kids to play craps in first grade now?" he asks.
"No," I say. "This is a public school. They don't teach anything useful."
